Highlights
Sustainable Organic Integrated Livelihoods (SOIL)
For nearly two decades, the Metro-Manhattan (NY) Chapter has been engaged in outreach to Haiti, championing solutions that uplift dignity, health, and sustainability. Our recent work includes a partnership with Sustainable Organic Integrated Livelihoods (SOIL), an organization addressing the critical need for safe and accessible sanitation in urban Haiti.
Through SOIL’s groundbreaking EkoLakay program, families receive container-based toilets and weekly waste collection, transforming access to hygiene in areas where traditional infrastructure is unavailable or unaffordable. Many participants are experiencing in-home sanitation for the first time, resulting in improved public health, environmental safety, and personal dignity.
Beyond Borders
The Metro-Manhattan (NY) Chapter proudly supports the Family Graduation Program led by Beyond Borders, a 24-month initiative that helps vulnerable Haitian families move from extreme poverty to stability and self-sufficiency.
Through our sponsorship, participating families receive comprehensive support: livelihood training and start-up resources, weekly coaching, health education and care, housing assistance, and the tools to build long-term financial security. This holistic model empowers families to break cycles of poverty and build brighter futures for generations to come.
